We are always looking for new people to join our team of volunteers.

The connections people form with their pets, and the benefits their presence brings, are immeasurable.

While the vast majority of our volunteers visit with dogs, we are also open to other well-suited animals such as cats, rabbits, and horses, provided they meet our suitability criteria and enjoy interacting with new people in community settings.

We are looking for people who:

  • Are over the age of 18

  • Have good communication skills

  • Have a well-trained, friendly pet that is at least 1 year old and enjoys meeting new people

  • Have owned their pet for at least 6 months

  • Have a clean criminal record

  • Are able to volunteer approximately 1 hour per week for at least 12 months

Step Four

A face to face interview to meet you and your pet.

A temperament and behaviour assessment of your pet to ensure they are calm and suitable.

Completing a Ministry of Justice criminal record check on-line (no charge).

Once these steps are completed and you have a uniform, you and your pet will be paired with a facility that suits both of you and a schedule of regular visits will be established.
